I loved the unique relationship Jean and Nat had in SHH. I don't know that they were ever ~friends~, but there was definitely a level of mutual respect and understanding that I would love to carry over here. Back in SHH, Jean knew Nat was connected with SHIELD from her telepathy. Its up to you what she does or doesn't know now. But maybe they have the sort of relationship where Nat can go to her for help and Jean knows not to ask questions? Patching Nat's injuries after a mission, providing the assist of a telepath where needed. I know in comic canon SHIELD/The Avengers called upon Jean's support on at least one occasion to undo brainwashing. Etc etc.
Yes! I dig it. Even though they didn't talk about what Jean learned, Nat at least trusted she'd keep her secret safe, which is a lot coming from Nat!! So I'd love to keep up that relationship. For her annoying minor mission injuries, she'd go to see SHIELD blah blah paperwork. But I can def see her going to someone trustworthy if she had more serious injuries esp those she got doing freelance work. So we can say over the years, Nat may have showed up on Jean's door in the middle of the night needing some serious stitch up work or help with medical stuff she doesn't want on record with SHIELD ☺☺☺☺☺
And of course, Nat can be a resource for Jean if she ever needs some intel or even just a beer. She'd be willing to lend a hand for free~~~~
And ooh I'll keep that last bit in mind, she may ask for advice or actual help when/if Winter Soldier appears 😉
Yes! All of this sounds great, and exactly like what I was thinking. Nat shows up covered in blood with broken ribs, and Jean just raises her eyebrows and makes small talk while she patches her up.
As for the last point, Jean can definitely help with that when/if that time comes ;)
